Seoul E-Land captain Kim Oh-kyu said he is dreaming of higher promotion than last season.

He said he would prepare calmly like the match against Suwon Samsung in Incheon United, which is not a K League 2 standard.

Kim Oh-kyu started in the third round of the "Hana Bank K League 2 2025" home game between Seoul E-Land and Suwon Samsung at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul on the 9th and led his team to a 4-2 victory.

E-Land had consecutive goals by Park Chang-hwan, Lee Tal-ro, Pedringyo and E-Dale, and defeated Suwon with only Kang Hyun-mook's goal and Lee Il-Chenko's comeback goal. The team had won all four games against Suwon.

Kim Oh-kyu started as a central defender in E-Land's first back three of the season without Osmar and played full-time. Although he allowed two runs, he showed stable performance in defense, including 89 percent pass success rate, one successful ground contest, three successful aerial ball contests, two clearings, two interceptions, two blockings, nine acquisitions, and one shot.

Kim Oh-kyu, who served as captain this season, led relatively young defenders such as Kim Min-kyu and Kwak Yun-ho on both sides as senior players, showing good performance in line adjustment and space cover to block Suwon's attack.

Veteran player Kim Oh-kyu has experienced two promotions for E-Land. He won the K-League Challenge (second division at the time) at Sangju Sangmu in the 2015 season and the K-League 2 title at the 2020 season as a member of Jeju United (Jeju SK Wyverns). He says he will calmly move forward with the goal of promotion this season unconditionally.

Kim Oh-kyu, who met in the mixed zone (joint coverage area) after the game, said, "There was no big difference in the match against Suwon. As a captain and a senior, I feel very fortunate to be able to finish one of the league games with the result of winning."

When asked if he had any stories he told the team before the game as a captain, Kim Oh-kyu said, "This year's concept itself is not to prepare for any team, but we are doing what we have to do and playing team-level soccer. So even before the game, we talked about focusing on the role we have to play and focusing on the game."

He was E-Land's first back three this season. "In case of (Kim) Min-gyu, he ran with me a lot during daytime last year, and (Kwak) Yun-ho is also my first time running with me, but since he was an experienced player in the first division and is also a senior player, there were not many problems. I didn't feel much pressure or difficulty because I communicated so well," Kim said.

Kim Oh-kyu will be the third captain after serving as captain of Gangwon FC and Jeju SK. "I'm too old to feel pressured," he said. "I think I'm past the age to feel pressured. There are more young players than expected, and there are many cases where they just do it with motivation. I can hold those parts more calmly and I'm playing that role a lot."

Three-time captain Kim Oh-kyu has 400 K-League matches to play. He played a total of 398 matches on the day.

Kim Oh-kyu said, "I didn't think much about the things behind me, and I did my best every day and did my best in one game and one game, so it's already been 15 years since I debuted this year." He also said, "I think this is what happened because I played one game in the number of games, but I think doing my best at the time given to me in each game is the most basic and the secret to being able to play for a long time as a player."

He added, 안전놀이터 "There is no trick, and I think it is absolutely proportional to time because we are people who do things with our bodies anyway. I think it is proportional to time depending on how much time you can invest for your body for this game. I think that's my secret to doing my best every day."
